Dianabol 20, an orally applicable steroid, was originally developed in Germany and later introduced to the United States by John Ziegler in 1956 and released to be sold by Ciba Specialty Chemicals

Dr. John Ziegler did not have any hand in creating Dianabol, but he was instrumental in the distribution and early use of the steroid. He started by treating a wide variety of his own medical patients including an appendectomy patient and burn victim. Dr. Ziegler attempted testing on himself and later moved on to working with athletes searching for a way to increase their performance.

In order to test the new drug and satisfy a requested need, Dr. Ziegler worked with a trio of American weight lifters, since they were having problems competing with the Russian weightlifting team. The experiment found mixed results, but in the end Dr. Ziegler thought it to be a failure, since the only real result he found in the weightlifters was increased horniness. However, evidence later proved the correct dosage nor cycle were being used.

Pharmacodynamics

Dianabol 20 is one of the most commonly used oral steroids in the bodybuilding community. The effects of using Dianabol typically kick in within the first week of use. The drug can increase blood pressure and intensity while in the gym, while quickly adding mass to the body. However, much of the initial weight gain is considered water weight. After about 2-3 weeks the steroid begins trimming fat from the body and adding actual muscle.
